![]() ![]() You should see something different that the artist felt would look better if it was not copied. It is better not to paint that, then explain how it got there, like you made the mistake. There are details some artist leave out when they recreate what they see, because some things don't look good, or there is a bright spot on the wall that comes from the reflection that bounced off 4 things to end up in that odd place. So, if you see an image with dull lighting and you can not find that same image anywhere, then it was completely created. If I added all of that people would not believe it was created, and if I create an image from my imagination, it helps to know exactly how the lighting will look, because being unsure, makes the lighting dull. ![]() My problem started just coming close, by drawing everything and not include detailed textures, like skin textures, and pigment spots. I was wanting to make my art look very real, because cameras don't really capture real life the right way, and that is why there is HDR images using 3 images or more, to get the details that a single image can't get. For artist like me, I just see the use of filters as a fake look, because it is close in its own special way, and when you notice how things really look, you can see everything wrong with it, and know when it was used, even in a combination of other filters. Working with filters enough helps built filter recognition, because each filter has a unique look, and it does the same thing every time, so there is a unique look to grow to know. If it was a reference from an online image then that is very easy to do, while if it is an image on the tv or in real life, then there might not be a good online reference that looks the same. It is easy to pick up a color in an area and then paint it back in, and it will create a paintery look or using a soft brush it will make everything look smoother than normal. If you see some areas that is blurry and some that is textured in details, then the textured area is something they missed when they painted over the image. I can get a better image by redrawing everything, and I did that a lot instead of trying to fix a messed up photograph. ![]()
